  • Sue Desilva
    Ms. Sue de Silva is professionally qualified as an English Specialist Trained Teacher holding a first class certificate from the Teachers College in Sri Lanka and a Diploma in TESL form the Teacher's College in London. She also obtained Montessori certification before coming to the USA 35 years ago. Since arriving in the US, she has worked in Montessori schools in Texas and for a short spell, in California. Prior to this, she was involved with secondary education teaching classes ranging from grades 1 through 12. She has over 45 years of teaching experience. Ms. De Silva is currently the Director and owner of RRMS. Together with her husband, who was also an educator, they started the school in January 1996. From small beginnings, the school has now grown to a fully fledged operation with a beautiful building and friendly environment with a total capacity of 156 children. RRMS is the oldest Montessori school in Round Rock and has been rated the best five years in a row.
  • Rosy
    Ms. Rosy Wickramasinghe serves as one of our Assistant Directors and holds an AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) diploma from the Good Shepherd Montessori Training Centre in Colombo, Sri-Lanka, where Madame Montessori first introduced her technique in person to Sri-Lanka over 65 years ago. She also has obtained her Texas Director's credentials. Ms. Rosy has been teaching, according to the Montessori method of education, for over 15 years. Ms. Rosy is gifted in music, playing the piano and the piano accordion. Ms. Rosy is the proud mother of three children. She is truly a valuable asset to Round Rock Montessori School, as well as the fact that she shares her musical talent and the children enjoy singing with her.
  • Rajni Menhdiratta
    Ms. Rajni Menhdiratta holds a Masters Degree in Botany and in Education. She has taught grade K-11 for eleven years. She earned her Montessori certification and is very competent, having joined our school in February of 2009. In addition to her regular teaching duties, she teaches Hindi and robotics. Her teaching approach is to follow the children’s lead in what they need to learn and when they need to learn. Her emphasis is teaching children according to their individual needs, as each child has a unique potential that is eventually revealed.
  • Cindy Glover
    Ms. Cindy Glover has a B. A. in Psychology with an emphasis in Child Psychology. Cindy has worked with children for 30 years, including Head Start, Special Education, Montessori, and Early Childhood programs. Cindy’s approach to teaching is to provide a fun, tangible environment that is familiar to everyday life, freedom with limits while inspiring children toward self-direction and the experience of reward of accomplishment.
  • Mary Huckvale
    Ms. Mary Huckvale obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in English. She also has her Texas teacher certification. She taught the second grade for 4 years at a private school and has served as a substitute teacher for Austin, Hutto and Georgetown ISDs. Additionally, she is retired from the state, having served as an executive assistant for 26 years. She is officially our school secretary who does an excellent job. You will, at times, see her everywhere in school making sure that everything is in order.
  • vanitha
    Ms. Vanitha Gurusamy holds an International Montessori Teaching Diploma and a Bachelor's degree in arts with a major in English literature. She has had prior experience working with elementary school students in India (up to 5th grade), and has also previously worked at RRMS during the time her daughter used to attend for 2 years. She is very patient with children, and strives to provide an exemplary learning environment during their early stages of their development.
  • Farida Durrani
    Ms. Farida Durrani has been working in education since 1965. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Science and has spent 35 years teaching graduate classes. She has been working with children of all age groups since 2004. She volunteered for Old Town Elementary School tutoring 4th and 5th graders in Math and Science. Being a grandmother, Ms. Durrani really enjoys working with children.
  • Viji Srinivasan
    Ms. Viji Srinivasan has been living in the United States for ten years and holds a master's degree in biotechnology from Ethiraj College, India. She recently relocated to the Austin area with her husband. She lived in California and New Mexico earlier. Working with children has been her passion and she feels really proud of it. Ms. Viji has an obsession towards natural sciences and is well versed in Tamil and French languages, in addition to English. Besides school, Viji loves spending time with her family and is a mom of a three and a half year old who studies in our school.
  • Kibra Araya
    Ms. Kibra Araya came to Austin having taught in various Montessori schools in & around Dallas for 27 years. She has five children, ages ranging from 11 years to 23 years. She has good experience bringing up children and she will be an asset to our school. While in Sweden, she did a course in Early Childhood Development. She completed her Diploma in Montessori Methodology in 2010.
  • Dimuthu DeSilva
    Ms. Dimuthu DeSilva began working with the toddlers in June of 2015. She has worked as a pre-grade teacher at Lyceum International School in Sri Lanka and also at the Ministry of Justice & Law Reforms in Sri Lanka. In addition to having an International Montessori Teaching Diploma, she holds several other diplomas - computer system design, computer based information system, graphic & web design, and computer hardware.
  • Nighat Raza
    Ms. Nighat Raza is currently working in our Green Meadows classroom. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree and an International Montessori Teaching Diploma. She has taught at several Montessori schools around the area and abroad, with over 17 years teaching experience. She has a keen interest in educating young children and is conscientious, organized, and committed to her job.
  • Maydean Diama
    Ms. Maydean Diama graduated from Kaimuki High in Honolulu, Hawaii and has worked in several schools there and in Texas with children from six weeks to five years old. She also worked at (and retired from) First Hawaii Bank as an account service representative in the Collections Department. She is currently helping in our infant room.
