We are happy to let you know that we are now enrolling for infant care.
We have qualified and caring personnel in our infant nursery.

The Round Rock Montessori School is a progressive Montessori school. Like traditional Montessori philosophy, we strongly foster our children’s curiosity, initiative, persistence, concentration, adaptability, and inner security. We utilize all Montessori’s educational materials (from the sand paper letters and movable alphabets to the metal insets and geometrical shapes). Yet atypically, we have low student to teacher ratios and workbooks for our readers (the kids love to get a workbook). Most of our children are reading at age 4; many start when they are 3 years of age.

Our school is about building the self-esteem of our students and preparing them academically, socially, and emotionally for Kindergarten or 1st grade (several of our students each year skip right into 1st grade). We have taken the best practices of a Montessori education and enhanced and updated them so that our children are better prepared for their future academic experiences. In addition to math and science, we teach geography, social studies, fine arts, astronomy, botany, zoology, history, and even some Spanish. Did you know that research finds that kids that attend preschool struggle less in school? New research concludes that if states would spend more money on preschools we could reduce juvenile crime, diminish the need for special education and have fewer students repeating grades” (Dec 15th, 2005, LA Times).

The teachers at RRMS are highly educated. Most have Bachelor's and/or Montessori degrees; a few others have advanced degrees. Many of the teachers also have or had their children in the school. Our school has many sibling sets too. This family atmosphere reduces turnover and provides for a supportive, stable atmosphere for our school.  Although we have an academic focus, we have plenty of fun. We are very much aware of the need for play-time in enhancing our children's social skills (from cooperation and negotiation skills to experiences in sympathy and other perspective-taking). We also have gymnastics, Stretch-n-Grow, and lots of time for music and art.

RRMS is a no-shame school! If desired or needed, we also work with the parents about how to enhance their effectiveness with their children. We do have a probationary period at our school. Continually disruptive behaviors (via name-calling or hitting) are not allowed at our school.

RRMS does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, creed, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and other school-administered programs.
